BPA Recruitment are acting on behalf of a number of well recognised, Leicester based Accountants.
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join a growing regional office within a forward-thinking accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone currently working at Semi-Senior or Accounts Senior level who is ready to progress into managing their own client portfolio. As an Accounts Senior, you will take responsibility for developing strong client relationships, overseeing workflow, reviewing work prepared by colleagues, and delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting for a broad range of SME clients. The position offers the opportunity to step into a more client-facing and advisory-focused capacity while continuing to build your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop your own portfolio of clients, ensuring a high standard of service and advice
Review accounts and VAT work prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance
Provide proactive business advice and tailored solutions to clients
Build long-term, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues across the firm
Support, mentor, and guide junior team members
Ensure all work aligns with statutory, ethical, and professional standards
Contribute to continuous improvement, technology adoption, and efficient working practices
Key Requirements
AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA part-qualified (or equivalent)
Proven experience within an accountancy practice, including preparation of year-end accounts, VAT returns, and management accounts
Additional Requirements
Strong communication and client-relationship skills
Commercially minded, proactive, and professional approach
Confident using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
