The Role
This is fantastic opportunity to learn how our commercial department functions by gaining exposure to each of the teams within this area. You'll receive training on how we pitch for business and complete tenders as well as producing drawings and documentation for electrical and solar projects. In addition, you'll learn how we monitor the progress of these projects once they are underway.
You'll benefit from a structured career path within the Commercial department with future opportunities to move into a management role.
You'll have dedicated customer accounts, gaining a full understanding of each client's requirements and ensuring that our service is truly customer-focused, despite our national scale. We're focused on increasing turnover with both new and existing customers and because we operate in a highly competitive market where margins are tight, carefully considered, accurate pricing is a must, along with top-notch customer service.
Responsibilities
· Gathering information to produce competitive tenders in response to customer specifications
· Producing drawings and documentation for new and current projects and ensure accurate information is relayed to the necessary departments on time
· Creating kit picklists based on technical drawings to ensure we issue the correct parts to our electrical teams
· Monitoring job progress behind the scenes by reviewing reports on fixes completed and identifying any discrepancies between commercial expectations and financial outcomes
· Helping to resolve any issues that might result in delayed payment and ensuring orders are in place before work is carried out
· Representing the company during customer site visits to hold pre-start meetings, site handovers and to discuss job progress
· Responding to telephone and email enquiries from customers' surveyors, ensuring we are always exceeding their expectations and providing a timely, responsive service
Requirements
· Minimum of 6 months' experience in a customer facing role or office environment
· Highly self-motivated with a hunger to learn on-the-job and build a long-term career with us
· Customer-service focused, determined to be responsive and impress at every opportunity
· Strong organisation and administration skills
· A genuine eye for detail, checking own work and ensuring accuracy
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Strong written and verbal communications skills
· Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
