About the role
*New Year- New Career - Team Manager PM shift - *
The Warehouse Team Manager will support the site management team in the efficient and cost effective management of the warehouse operations. It will be your responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the daily Warehouse operation and enable the required level of service to be provided to the customer at all times.
Main Responsibilities
You will ensure that the receiving, storing, picking and dispatch of Goods in the correct manner to agreed productivity levels and within budgetary constraints, whilst maintaining a safe working environment through effective team management.
You will need
To be successful in this role you’ll have working knowledge of the Warehouse function within the FMCG distribution industry as well as working knowledge of the business and operational aspects of supervising a depot Warehouse operation. General knowledge of the Transport function would be an advantage.
As you will be leading a team of warehouse operatives, you’ll have excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage & train colleagues. Your computer skills will be important too as you will be using the MS Office suite on a daily basis for reporting and formal disciplinary processes.
8. Essential Skills/Qual - GSCE Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent.
9. Knowledge of warehouse functions in an FMCG environment
10. Working knowledge of the operational aspects of supervising a warehouse operation
11. A good understanding of warehousing, logistics and customer service
12. Ability to foster a co-operative work environment
13. Ability to motivate others and encourage teamwork
14. Able to handle conflict in a confidential and professional manner
15. Able to prioritise workloads & work well under pressure
16. PC literate MS office suite 365
17. Able to work as part of a team
18. Demonstrate excellent people skills
19. Strong communication & willingness to learn
Desirable Skills/Qual - Basic Food Handling Certificate, IOSH.

21. Knowledge of warehouse functions in a food environment
22. Appreciation of finance and budgetary controls
23. Working knowledge of employment legislation
24. Ability to manage, appraise and train employees
25. Stock control experience
26. Independent retail experience
27. Practical knowledge of MHE use
28. General awareness of the activities in other supply chain departments
