As part of a new Public Realm Programme Bridgend County Borough Council is looking to recruit a new Team Leader to lead the new programme. You will be expected to lead all aspects of delivery and manage budgets and staff. You will be required to work in a flexible manner, to cater for the needs of the service at any particular time and work some weekends when necessary.
The new team will provide a visible, responsive, and proactive service focused on improving the cleanliness, appearance, and day-to-day condition of neighbourhoods, town centres, and community spaces across the county borough.
The team would act as a rapid-response, place-based service, dealing with environmental issues that have a disproportionate impact on residents' perceptions of safety, pride, and wellbeing. It would complement existing core services (waste, highways, share regulatory services & enforcement) by addressing a wide range of issues in a proactive way.
In addition, the team would deliver small-scale public realm enhancements, including new and replacement planting schemes, seasonal planting, and the restoration, refurbishment, or replacement of street furniture and public realm assets such as benches, bins, planters, railings, bollards, signage, and other local infrastructure.
The team will provide a practical, highly visible "can-do" function, demonstrating the council's commitment to maintaining, enhancing, and investing in its places.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
