Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Start Date: September 2025 Pay Rate: £85 - £100 per day Location: Whelley, Wigan (WN1) Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for a permanent role) A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Whelley area of Wigan is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social-emotional challenges. You will work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted 1:1 support, small group interventions, and help implement individualised education plans (IEPs). Key Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND. Contribute to the delivery of tailored learning strategies. Collaborate with teaching staff and the SENCO. Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and building confidence. Essential Criteria: Experience working with children with SEN (in school or similar settings). A calm, patient, and nurturing approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable.
