We have an exciting opportunity to join our Acute Inpatient Therapies Team at Kettering General Hospital. We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner. You should have excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high quality, evidence-based care for our patients across the 7-day service. We welcome applications for full-time or part-time hours.
Responsibilities
* Manage and prioritise your own caseload independently, assessing and treating patients with a wide variety of conditions.
* Assist in assessing and carrying out specific rehabilitation programmes for clients with more complex needs, improving their quality of life.
* Work alone as well as within a team with good written and verbal communication skills.
* Roaming therapy team providing expertise and assessment to the discharge hub, escalation areas and medically fit ward/areas with complex therapy needs impacting discharge.
Qualifications
* Essential: Minimum NVQ level III or equivalent relevant to Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy
* Desirable: Associate member of the CSP or RCOT; Foundation level degree or equivalent; Qualification in Anatomy & Physiology
Knowledge/Experience
* Good working experience within ward-based healthcare gathered over a reasonable period of time.
* Experience of working with a broad range of ages.
* Evidence of appropriate competencies at Assistant or Assistant Practitioner level within Therapy or healthcare.
* Working knowledge of Excel & Word; ability to work across a 7-day service; in-depth knowledge of the Therapy role within the In-Patient Team.
Skills
* Demonstrate motivational skills and the ability to produce a therapeutic treatment plan for a limited field of conditions.
* Well-developed communication skills, including interpersonal skills, liaison, influencing and negotiation.
* Ability to problem solve; work on own without immediate support; organise own workload; observe well; numerate; maintain confidentiality; use IT; travel between venues; present a professional image; work under pressure; flexible/adaptable.
