Job Summary
Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dialysis team at Dorchester Dialysis Unit. The role involves working with a progressive, welcoming, supportive team to deliver a high standard of care to patients attending for Haemodialysis in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
The right candidate will be able demonstrate a professional demeanour and a passion for delivering efficient, compassionate, individualised and holistic care to patients.
Successful applicants will be required to work variable shifts between the hours of 06.00-23.30 Monday – Saturday, and there may be opportunities to rotate to the in-patient ward at DCH and the satellite unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Qualifications
* Evidence of ability to work with minimal supervision by registered nursing staff
* Evidence of good communication skills
* Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality
* Evidence of ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors
Experience
* A minimum of 1 year experience at Band 2 in NHS primary or secondary care with Dialysis experience is necessary.
* Already undertaking or willingness to start HCSW apprentice level 3 qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.
* Sufficient experience working as a nursing assistant.
Education & Training
* NVQ 3 in renal care / renal competencies or working towards achieving these qualifications.
* Educated to Secondary School Level.
