A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice is currently seeking an experienced Personal Tax Senior to join their growing tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and technically strong individual to take ownership of a personal tax portfolio, working closely with senior leadership while maintaining a high degree of autonomy. The role is suited to someone who enjoys building client relationships and delivering high-quality compliance work.
This is a senior-level position with no line management responsibilities.
The Role and Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance work is completed accurately and within deadlines
* Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, developing and maintaining strong relationships
* Preparing and reviewing self‑assessment tax returns
* Handling a range of personal tax matters, including income tax and capital gains tax, with some exposure to inheritance tax
* Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs to resolve queries and manage client matters efficiently
* Monitoring deadlines and ensuring work is delivered in line with regulatory requirements
* Identifying potential advisory opportunities and escalating where appropriate
Essential skills required:
* ATT and/or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience
* A minimum of five years’ personal tax experience within an accountancy practice
* Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients from onboarding through to completion
* Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance
* Confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
* Highly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines
* Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
