Job Description:
We are seeking a London-based proactive and detail-oriented Data Protection Manager to support our outsourced DPO.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in data protection.
You will work closely with experienced DPOs and be the point of contact across the business.Applicants must have a minimum of 2-3 years' duration in previous roles, no short stints / job hopping please.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the DPOaaS team.
* Conduct data protection audits and prepare compliance reports with actionable recommendations.
* Assist with Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs).
* Monitor and interpret changes in UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
* Help maintain and improve clients' data protection frameworks, policies, and procedures.
* Provide training and awareness sessions to client staff on data protection best practices.
* Collaborate with legal, IT, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with data protection requirements.
* Escalate risks and issues to the DPO as needed.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and related legislation.
* Experience in a data protection, compliance, or information governance role.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage outsourced services.
* Professional certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or BCS Data Protection Practitioner) are desirable.
