This is an expression of interest ahead of AMP 8. We are open to speaking with Principal Mechanical Engineers interested in joining us in the South of England. The role can be based at various offices in the region, including Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill, London, Reading, or High Wycombe.
With hybrid working arrangements, this role offers a combination of in-office and home working. It is suitable for an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to advance their career within an industry-leading consultancy, working on exciting water sector projects.
We partner with top water clients across the UK, working on some of the most impactful projects in the industry. Our focus is on delivering sustainable development and infrastructure that adapts to and mitigates climate change.
You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations.
You will liaise with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to ensure positive project and community outcomes. Additionally, you will manage and mentor junior team members.
About You
* Experienced Mechanical Engineer, preferably Chartered with IMechE, with water industry experience.
* Proficient in producing and reviewing technical outputs such as specifications, pump and aeration system designs, schedules, and reports. Familiar with collaborative planning, reviews, and solution design.
* Capable of providing engineering input for design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, including General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
* Strong communication skills, able to deliver technical presentations and contribute to design discussions, safety reviews (including HAZOPs and ALMs).
* Ability to provide technical leadership and support the development of junior engineers.
* Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and experience assessing existing infrastructure for mechanical design development. Candidates with experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors are also welcome.
