Just finished uni and thinking, “What next?”
If you’re curious about a career in education, this is a pretty great place to start.
We’re working with a welcoming, community-focused primary school in BS7, supporting them with their September intake. They’re looking for graduates who are ready to step into the classroom and make a real difference, especially supporting children with additional needs.
Why this role is perfect for graduates
Not sure if teaching is the right path? This role gives you a proper, hands-on insight.
You won’t be stuck making photocopies or hovering at the back of the class. You’ll be right in the mix, working closely with pupils who need extra support to access learning and feel confident in school.
It’s experience that actually counts, whether you’re considering teacher training, educational psychology, or SEN specialisms.
The role
You’ll mainly be working 1:1 with pupils who have SEN, supporting them throughout the school day.
That means:
* Building a strong, trusting relationship with one child
* Helping them stay focused, engaged and regulated
* Adapting tasks so learning feels accessible, not overwhelming
* Supporting with routines, transitions and social interaction
* Working alongside experienced teachers and SEN staff
No two days will look the same, and that’s part of the fun.
A quick reality check
This role is incredibly rewarding, but it can be challenging too.
Some pupils may need support with behaviour, communication, or emotional regulation. Patience, resilience and a calm approach go a long way here.
If you’ve studied psychology, education, or worked with children before, you’ll have a head start, but mindset matters just as much as experience.
What we’re looking for
* A graduate with a genuine interest in education or SEN
* Any experience with children or young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, care work, etc.)
* A calm, positive and proactive attitude
* Confidence to build relationships and handle challenges with support
* A willingness to learn, every single day
What you’ll get
* A full-time role for the full academic year, perfect experience for future teacher training
* Support from a brilliant school team who will help you learn the ropes
* Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
* Free CPD, including SEN and behaviour training
* A dedicated consultant who’s got your back from day one
Interviews

If you’re looking for something more meaningful than a typical grad role, something where you’ll actually see the impact you’re making, this could be it.
Quick one, are you Thrive trained? If not, we can get you booked onto our free training. It’s a great way to build your confidence and stand out in SEN roles.
