About the role
We are seeking an inspiring, committed English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Scunthorpe on a full time, permanent basis. You will deliver engaging lessons raising attainment and fostering a love of literature and language.
Key responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English lessons.
* Track progress, provide timely feedback, and implement effective intervention strategies
* Contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and enrichment activities
* Create an inclusive, safe, and purposeful learning environment
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues
* Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
About you
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and degree in English or a related discipline
* Evidence of successful classroom practice and strong outcomes
* Excellent subject knowledge, pedagogy, and behaviour management
* High expectations for all learners and a commitment to inclusion
* Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
* Willingness to contribute to wider school life (clubs, trips, competitions)
