About the Role
At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Tracheostomy Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The role is 1:1 support in a care home/residential setting, with a focus on emotional and clinical support, including tracheostomy care, PEJ feeds, urinary and bowel management. A valid driving licence is preferred.
Client Information
Our client is a young girl with a non-traumatic spinal cord injury who lives at home with her family. Structured routines, reassurance and support both at home and in the community are essential. The carer is expected to be calm, patient, confident, able to work independently, and a driver is preferred.
Clinical Requirements
* Tracheostomy trained
* Percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ) feeds
* Full assistance with urinary and bowel management
* Paediatric experience favoured
What The Role Involves
* Deliver compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
* Support with community access and social activities
* Promote independence and dignity in all tasks
* Provide emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
* Communicate effectively with the clinical, care, and coordination teams
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting people with complex needs
* Confidence with clinical tasks (or willingness to train)
* Strong communication and reliability
* Empathy, emotional intelligence and person‑centred values
* Ability to work independently and professionally
* Support residents in following their care plans and achieving their individual goals
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Provide companionship and emotional support
* Maintain accurate records and report changes to senior staff
* Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed
* Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events
* Ensure cleanliness and safety of the care environment by following health and safety protocols
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication effectively
