Shilbottle Primary School is at an exciting stage in its journey, with new leadership in place and a real opportunity to make a difference to the life of our school. We are now looking for a committed, practical and reliable Caretaker to join our team and help us keep our school safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. Typical duties include:
* Opening the school and checking the site for safety or damage
* Carrying out basic maintenance and site checks, including gritting when required
* Turning on lights, heating and ensuring the school is ready for the day
* Setting up and clearing away tables for lunch service
* Cleaning areas of the school including toilets and classrooms, emptying bins, replenishing supplies
* Supporting with minor repairs and day-to-day site jobs
* Locking up and securing the school at the end of the day
We currently have a pattern of split shifts (early morning, lunchtime, and late afternoon/early evening), but we are flexible and willing to discuss different arrangements. The role could suit:
* One person working full-time across the day
* Two people sharing the role (e.g. mornings/afternoons)
* Term time only or all year round contracts
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can use their initiative, and is approachable and reliable. Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential.
Hours: Flexible between 0700 and 1800
Contract: Full-time or part-time, term time only or full year considered
Salary: The full time salary starts at £26,403. This is pro-rata'd for part time hours according to hours worked.
This is a great time to join Shilbottle Primary School as we move forward with new leadership and an ambitious plan for the future.
If you are interested in helping us provide the very best environment for our children, we would love to hear from you. Please email for an application form, or to ask more about the shift patterns. Note - applications made via Indeed are not accepted. We are only able to consider applications made on our offical application form.
