Commodity Risk Analyst (3-5 Years' Experience)

Overview
A leading global investment platform is seeking a high-calibre Commodity Risk Analyst to join a rapidly growing business. This is a front-facing risk role with exposure across both physical and financial commodities, supporting a dynamic and expanding trading environment.
The team is focused on hiring top-tier, high-potential talent with strong analytical capability and the capacity to develop into a senior risk professional over time.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner closely with trading desks to provide risk oversight and challenge across commodity portfolios
* Analyse and monitor market risk exposures, with an initial focus on power and natural gas
* Assess risks across both physical and derivative positions
* Develop and enhance risk frameworks, tools and analytics
* Contribute to stress testing, scenario analysis and limit monitoring
* Engage with cross-functional teams including trading, quantitative research and senior management
Candidate Profile
Experience
* 3-5 years' experience in market risk, trading risk, or a related analytical function
* Background in commodities preferred, particularly power or gas
* Open to candidates from broader fixed income or cross-asset risk backgrounds
Technical Skills
* Strong quantitative and analytical skillset
* Experience working with market risk methodologies and risk systems
* Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable outcomes
Education
* Degree from a top-tier university
* Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as:
* Mathematics
* Statistics
* Finance or similar
* Advanced degrees are advantageous but not essential
