Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a leading Housing Company in the North London area who are looking for a brand new Estimator to join their team covering Roofing projects.
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Estimator to join a well-established contractor based in North London, working on exciting and impactful roofing projects within the social housing sector. Key Responsibilities:
1. Take the lead on estimating for roofing projects within the social housing sector.
2. Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure estimates are accurate and in line with project specifications.
3. Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed and competitive cost breakdowns.
4. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain quotes and negotiate costs.
5. Prepare and present cost estimates for new projects, as well as variations on ongoing contracts.
6. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, costings, and best practices to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of project budget management.
The Ideal Candidate:
8. Experience as an Estimator, with a strong focus on roofing projects (preferably within the social housing sector).
9. Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tenders.
10. Strong knowledge of building regulations and health and safety standards.
11. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
12. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
13. A full understanding of costing software and relevant estimating tools.
