About the role:
Active Care in the Home are looking for enthusiastic people with a real Can-Do attitude to join our support team to assist with play, therapy & care.
Our 8 year old client is non-ambulant but walks with a walker, is non-verbal, but understands everything! She has a high level of receptive and expressive language using different methods of communication, including eye-gaze, PODD book, partner assisted scanning and switches. She is an adrenaline junkie, has a great sense of humour, loves to cause mischief & laugh out loud!
This role is primarily about play & adventure letting your imagination loose & adapting activities to suit client needs - there is also lots of opportunity to learn new skills though and work within the MDT including Speech & language, Physio, Occupational Therapy, Dietician (PEG Fed). You will be part of a team, thus able to make recommendations, trial different therapeutic techniques and use your skills to make a difference for this child and her family.
All training will be provided, although prior experience in childcare is essential & SEN experience desirable.
When you will be working:
* Evening, waking night, and weekend day shifts available
* Evenings (2.30pm-9.30pm)
* Waking nights (9.30pm-9.30am)
* Weekend days (9am-9pm)
* Part time or Full time available
In this role, you'll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract as care packages can change.
