Civils Technician - Contract
Fully Remote
£40.00-£45.00 per hour (outside IR35)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civils Technician to join a highly respected, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy on a contract basis. This role offers the chance to work remotely while supporting a busy and growing portfolio of projects across the education, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
The position offers an immediate start and represents an attractive opportunity for a contractor seeking a stable, long-term engagement with a blue-chip organisation.
Working closely with engineers and technicians across the business, the role will involve the production and coordination of Civil 3D models and AutoCAD drawings relating to drainage infrastructure, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), levels design, highways and external works.
As this is a fully remote position, candidates must be comfortable working collaboratively within a distributed team environment. A proactive approach to communication is essential, with regular interaction via Teams, telephone and email to ensure project deliverables are produced accurately and within programme requirements.
The role will involve preparing high-quality technical drawings, general arrangements, sections, details and schedules throughout all stages of project delivery, from initial feasibility studies through planning submissions, tender documentation and construction issue packages. Maintaining drawing quality and adherence to established company standards will also form an important part of the position.
Applicants should possess strong Autodesk Civil 3D capability together with proven experience delivering civil engineering drawings and models for UK-based projects. A sound understanding of drainage design, SuDS, highways and external works is required, along with good construction knowledge and an appreciation of below-ground infrastructure coordination. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team are equally important.
Experience working with Common Data Environments such as 4Projects, Dalux, Asite or similar platforms would be advantageous, although not essential. Familiarity with drainage modelling software and model integration processes would also be beneficial.
