This is an exciting opportunity to join Warrington Borough Council as we continue to progress with the development of local special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services.
The role
We are looking for a diligent and meticulous EHC Plan Writer to support the SEND Team to comply with the requirements set out in the SEND Code of Practice 2014, to support professionals to assess the education, health and care needs of children and young people with SEND.
You will work closely with parents and carers, children and young people, schools, and other professionals to write clear, comprehensive, person‑centred Education, Health and Care Plans by interpreting specialist reports, educational data and professional recommendations based on assessments from a range of services and delivered within statutory timescales.
What's needed?
In this post you will be required to write both new Education, Health and Care Plans and support with the amendments of Education, Health and Care Plans, maintaining high standards of written communication to ensure that plans are accessible, clearly structured and person‑centred.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* The ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines, especially with regards to statutory timescales for EHC Needs Assessments and Annual Reviews.
* The ability to work independently.
* The ability to manage relationships with parents and children and young people, building positive relationships.
* Resilience under pressure.
* The ability to demonstrate a high degree of awareness to the needs of service users.
