Key Responsibilities:
* Develop optimal transportation routes considering distance, time, cost, and mode of transport.
* Choose appropriate carriers and logistics providers based on capacity, reliability, cost, and service agreements.
* Coordinate multiple shipments into full truckloads or container loads to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
* Plan and schedule transportation movements, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
* Use tracking systems to monitor shipments in transit and communicate updates with carriers.
* Ensure all transport documentation and reports are accurate, meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
* Identify potential savings and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
* Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and effective communication.
* Identify opportunities for process enhancements and drive operational excellence.
* Provide guidance on transport operations, ensuring staff meet key objectives and follow best practices.
* Adhere to all agreed operational and statutory requirements to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
* Prior experience in transport planning and logistics operations is essential.
* Air & Road Logistics Knowledge - Strong understanding of freight, cargo handling, and transport regulations.
* Strong skills in Microsoft Office and transport management systems to input and manage data effectively.
* Fluent in English (written and verbal) to engage effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
* ADR & Hazardous Awareness Training (Cargo Op / Level D) is advantageous.
* Driving & Forklift License preferred (Training available if needed).
* Professional Presentation: Front-facing role requiring a professional and approachable manner.
* Flexibility: Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands.
