Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to offer opportunities for experienced Healthcare Assistants for Bodmin CATU/SDEC Unit.
Bodmin Community Assessment and Treatment Unit has 22 beds. These provide hospital care for elderly patients and people who need rehabilitation after surgery or an illness.The unit has a day case bed for when people do not need an overnight stay.
Same day emergency care (SDEC) is one of the many ways the NHS is working to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time for patients.It aims to benefit both patients and the healthcare system by reducing waiting times and hospital admissions, where appropriate.
Full time, permanent contract undertaking a range of night duties 19:30- 08:00 hrs and long days 07:30 - 20:00 hrs on a rotational basis in order to support 24 hour nursing care, 7 days per week.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery of clinical care, planned and assessed by the Registered Nurseso To carry out care / other duties under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurseand/or Senior Health Care Assistanto Support care on a day-to-day basis for all patients in the clinical area in a mannersensitive to the individual clients needs and wishes, acknowledging their rights andbeliefs at all timeso Contribute to resource management within the clinical area

Person Specification
Education & Qualification
* NVQ 2 in Health Care, or Equivalent
* Clinicalskills eg venepuncture, blood transfusion, aseptic non touch technique
* NVQ 3 in Direct Care
* Previous hospital experience
* Adaptability to cope with changing workload
* Able to competently organise and carry out designated workload within scope of previous training
