We are seeking an experienced and motivated B7 Estates Manager (Mechanical) to join our NHS Estates Team. This pivotal role involves leading the delivery of mechanical services maintenance (Hard FM), managing in-house teams and external contractors, and acting as an Authorised/Responsible Person for key mechanical systems including water safety, heating, ventilation, and medical gas.
Responsibilities
* Advise the Deputy Head of Estates on all aspects of mechanical services ensuring compliance with NHS guidance, health and safety standards, statutory compliance, codes of practice and regulations and that activities are carried out in the most cost effective and efficient way.
* Responsible for the management and mobilisation of all externally provided Estates Maintenance service contracts in relation to Mechanical Engineering and Water Safety systems throughout the London estate.
* Provide contract administration to externally provided Estates Maintenance services in relation to Mechanical Engineering and Water Safety systems to all London sites.
* Demonstrate the provision of high quality, integrated services which are managed within set budgetary limits and demonstrate value for money through benchmarking against similar organisations.
* Analyse complex contractual data to ensure service contracts/SLAs are delivering to the agreed specification. Identify areas of efficiency that can be achieved from within the contract/SLA, to meet the service needs whilst operating within budget parameters.
* Continually improve the financial effectiveness of externally provided estate maintenance services across the London estate.
Requirements:
* Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (specialism in water, heating, ventilation etc.)
* Strong background in NHS estates or similar environment
* Proven leadership in managing mechanical teams and contractors
* Authorised Person in a relevant mechanical discipline
* Excellent knowledge of HTMs/HBNs and Hard FM compliance
* Skilled in health & safety and risk management in estates
* Computer literate with effective problem-solving skills
