Overview
Multi Site Technician role at City Building Engineering Services (CBES).
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations within a specified region. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to a range of electrical, mechanical and building assets in ASDA stores, in an efficient and cost-effective manner, complying with the Company Health and Safety procedures.
Responsibilities
* Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and ASDA colleagues.
* Complete all necessary PPMs and ensure all PPM remedial tasks are accurately logged and actioned, ensuring legal compliance.
* Supervise the Maintenance Assistant (MA), provide regular coaching and support them to perform their role in line with company processes.
* Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk; assess requirements of the job and carry out repairs as required.
* Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and contract SLAs.
* Communicate with ASDA Store Management teams and RES regarding any repair and maintenance issues likely to affect store operations.
* Carry out surveys and complete reports as required.
* Carry out alterations and installations within technical competence and in accordance with current specifications.
* Complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the RES (e.g., repairs to building fabric and surfaces).
* Assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions when requested by the RES.
* Recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced MA to ensure continuous service delivery in stores; follow company processes and policies in recruitment.
* Maintain accurate administration and City applications, recording live jobs and effective time utilisation.
* Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal skills keep pace with technical developments (may include overnight stays).
* Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times; ensure current compliance documentation required for allocated tasks is completed to required quality standards.
* Ensure team attend and complete all mandatory training, including induction programmes and eLearning modules within timescales.
* Provide on-the-job coaching and support to the team to perform to required standards; deliver technical coaching solutions and encourage learning.
* Complete induction and training administration, including probationary reviews to ensure the team are competent and aware of their performance.
* Participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (minimum 1 week in 4) and complete general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during standby; carry out first-look for equipment such as Fire and Security/HVAC/electrical and general issues.
* Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the RES or City Management Team.

* Interview / recruit / oversee / manage the Maintenance Assistant/Mobile Maintenance Assistant and Multi-site Maintenance Assistant as recruited against the stores they cover.
* Update Cascade, managing holidays and absence.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Essential – General Education: GCSE standard;
* Professional/Academic/Vocational Qualifications – C&G 2382 (18th edition); Level 3 core Electrical qualification (examples: C&G2330, C&G2365 with relevant experience); familiarity with completion of electrical certification; City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection; time served in electrical discipline or relevant industry experience.
* Specific Knowledge – 3 phase electrics and its applications.
* Demonstrated Behaviours – Ability to manage and support team members; good communication skills (written and verbal); helpful/friendly manner; customer focused; self-motivated.
* Specialist Requirements – Ability to maintain/repair a range of electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g., fans, pumps, compressors) to recognised standards; general plumbing and building experience; ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work at heights; current driving licence; ability to complete the standard required for maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic equipment; willingness to work flexible hours.
