Street Lighting Engineer Location: Nottingham (Hybrid – site/office/home) Type: Full-time, Permanent Morson Talent is proud to be recruiting for an Street Lighting Engineer on behalf of a key client operating within the UK's strategic highways infrastructure. This opportunity is based in the Midlands, with the main office located in Nottingham and offers a flexible working arrangement including on-site, office, and remote working. About the Role: You will join a regional asset management team responsible for the lifecycle management of electrical and lighting infrastructure across a major road network. Assets include feeder pillars, lighting columns, lanterns, illuminated signs and bollards, and private cable networks in subways. The role involves developing feasibility studies and preliminary designs for asset improvements and renewals, as well as compiling and reviewing documentation and evidence for value management processes. You'll take into account innovation in materials, construction methods, and cost efficiency throughout. Key Responsibilities: Conduct data analysis and needs evaluation to inform early-stage solution development. Prepare briefs for survey works to support asset renewal and improvement schemes. Develop technical briefs for design contractors. Lead the design of highway renewal and maintenance schemes. Promote and uphold health, safety, and wellbeing standards in all planning and delivery phases. About You: Degree, HND, or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in highway construction, inspection, and electrical asset design/renewal. Proficiency in AutoCAD and cable calculation software. Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
