Senior Audiologist/Clinical Scientist – 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has become available for a permanent Band 6 Senior Audiologist depending on experience to join our friendly team. The post holder will have the opportunity to train in a specialist area within the department and to attend funded CPD.
The post holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to our patients within a supportive audiology team. We are looking for an individual with experience in Audiology, including working with complex patients, or someone who would like to learn a specialism in an encouraging NHS department. Good communication skills are essential, as is leadership and an excellent patient care attitude. You will have an MSc in Audiology or equivalent qualifications, and be registered with the ACHS or HCPC, and have some experience working in the NHS or other healthcare organisation.

Main Duties of the Job
* Complex clinic (paediatric assessment, vestibular assessment, complex adults) which may include carrying out specific tests or procedures, documenting findings, completing clinical reports and communicating with patients and their families regarding findings and management.
* Maintain a good level of expertise in routine and non-routine testing and rehabilitation methods, to include technical expertise in a range of techniques and procedures. The latter may involve new or emerging technologies and knowledge.
* Act as a point of contact for more junior members of the team to discuss cases to ensure all patients receive an equitable service and high quality care.
* Transporting expensive equipment, stock (including hearing aids and consumables) to outstations and undertaking visits to schools as needed.
* Keep the patient management system (Auditbase) up to date so that patients progress is monitored and rehabilitation schedules are adhered to, and stock is appropriately managed.

Person Specification
* Qualifications – Essential
o MSc Audiology or equivalent
o MSc Hearing Therapy or equivalent
o Professional registration with HCPC as a clinical scientist or RCCP as an Audiologist
* Qualifications – Desirable
o Evidence of further training in a specialist area of Audiology
* Experience – Essential
o Significant experience working within an NHS Audiology Service
o Significant experience managing patients with complex auditory needs
o Significant experience in rehabilitation and counselling with adults
* Experience – Desirable
o Experience of Auditbase
o Experience of a wide range of hearing aid technology
o Knowledge of NHS service provision and pathways
