This is a senior leadership role offering genuine influence over safety, asset reliability, and long-term engineering strategy within a demanding operational environment. You’ll be responsible for leading sizeable engineering teams, shaping maintenance and asset management strategies, and ensuring critical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory requirements. With this role, you will report directly into the Head of Engineering with 4-6 direct reports. This will then filter down into circa 100 indirect reports. The Role As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the performance of essential assets across the site. The position combines hands-on leadership with strategic oversight and will suit someone comfortable operating in high-risk, heavy industry settings. Key responsibilities include: * Providing visible leadership on health, safety, and compliance, ensuring statutory obligations are met at all times * Leading and developing large multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering high standards and continuous improvement * Setting engineering and maintenance standards to support safe, reliable operations * Overseeing long-term asset management and maintenance strategies * Driving reliability improvements through data, innovation, and best practice * Managing substantial operational budgets and contributing to capital investment planning * Leading major engineering projects from concept through delivery * Working closely with senior stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers Skills and Experience Required: * Managing leaders within a Engineering function with large number of indirect reports (Circa 100) * Significant experience leading teams in heavy industry or a high hazard environment (e.g. COMAH sites, mining, power generation, oil & gas, steel, chemicals). * Degree in Electrical Engineering * Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards.
