At Elmlea, we offer Supported Living for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. Located near to Gloucester city centre, on the tree-lined London Road, Elmlea is a large eight-bedroom period property with a further two-bedroom bungalow on the same site. The properties offer a safe and supportive environment for autistic people and those with learning disabilities.

About your role
As a Support Worker, you will be supporting individuals with complex needs such as Autism, Learning Disabilities, challenging behaviours, physical disabilities, and Mental Health conditions.
Role Responsibilities
12. Encourage the people we support to participate in activities or follow their interests, this will involve assisting them in the community as well as helping them to attend appointments.
13. Assisting people to be as independent as they can, whether this be supporting them to learn to cook or prompting them to develop personal care skills
14. Encourage the people we support to follow their personal planned strategies to maintain their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
15. Ensure all records are update and procedures are followed at all times
Role Requirements
16. A good communicator and listener
17. A desire to support individuals with complex needs.
18. Good basic comprehension of English language including basic literacy and numeracy skills.
19. An ability to remain calm and level-headed even when faced with challenging behaviours.
20. A commitment to constantly providing the highest standards of care for the people that we support.
21. At least 6 months experience of working with people with Learning disabilities and Mental Health
