Chelmsford Breast Imaging is committed to providing high quality care for all clients/patients attending for Breast Imaging. Imaging is undertaken in the recently upgraded Breast Unit at Broomfield Hospital.
Service Excellence
The service fully supports skill mix, with Consultant, Advanced, Enhanced and Assistant/Associate Practitioners. We are a progressive service and are supportive and actively promote continued professional development. The role of a Mammographer is to provide and maintain a high standard of mammography for all patients and clients attending for breast imaging.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside Enhanced and Advanced Practitioners in interventional procedures assisting in core biopsies, VABs and localisations.
* Undertake daily, weekly and monthly quality control tests in line with the department's quality assurance programme and report any equipment malfunction or image deterioration promptly.
* Perform regular self‑assessment and peer review of performance associated with service audit and maintain continual professional development (CPD).
* Perform all mammography examinations to the highest standard with precision, ensuring that the client/patient episode is documented and carried out in accordance with departmental protocol.
* Select the appropriate mammographic projections and exposures using relevant knowledge, clinical experience and departmental protocols to ensure optimum diagnostic imaging.
Qualifications and Experience
• Candidates must hold PG Cert in Mammography Practice.
• Preferred: Self‑motivated, enthusiastic Mammographers with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
