Role Summary
Specialist Practitioner (Advanced) – Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT) team, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).
Responsibilities
* Progress through set competencies and training to achieve specialist practitioner status, practising autonomously as a core member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide specialist nursing/AHP care for a defined patient/client group, leading a team to safe therapeutic management of the caseload.
* Act as the key worker for a patient/client caseload, coordinating and overseeing therapeutic treatment and care.
* Provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals, and practice clinically in agreed care settings.
* Advise and support divisions regarding overall management of the service.
* Work across professional, departmental and Trust boundaries to develop and support patient‑centred seamless care, and lead practitioner‑led care initiatives.
* Serve as a role model for all and contribute effectively to inter‑professional team working.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced nurse with autonomy in a hospital setting and experience running nurse‑led clinics.
* Completed history taking, physical assessment and non‑medical prescribing is desirable; aspiring nurses are not excluded.
* Desire to start as Band 6 with support to complete required courses; applicants already meeting competencies may be offered Band 7.
