Shifts: Wednesday to Saturday, 6am-6pm
The Opportunity
A well-established food manufacturing site in Greater Manchester is seeking a proactive and experienced Hygiene Supervisor to lead its hygiene operations.
This is a key leadership role where you will manage a team of hygiene operatives, ensuring all cleaning tasks are delivered to the highest food safety standards while supporting overall production performance in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP).
You'll play a central part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient factory environment - enabling best-in-class hygiene practices and supporting future site improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and support a team of hygiene operatives to meet/exceed KPIs
Ensure delivery of the full hygiene schedule in line with production plans
Conduct audits to ensure cleaning meets required standards and compliance
Manage staffing levels, rotas, training, and performance reviews
Champion Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Quality across the team
Identify hazards, report near-misses, and support safety investigations
Ensure correct storage and usage of cleaning materials to avoid loss
Deputise for the Hygiene/Services Lead when required
What You'll Bring
Experience in a hygiene supervisory or team leader role within food manufacturing or FMCG
Level 2 Food Safety certification (essential)
IOSH Supervising Safely (or willingness to achieve)
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills
Experience with cleaning audits, GMP, and working to compliance standards
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and internal systems (training provided)
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
A proactive, detail-focused, and team-oriented mindset
