Family Assessment Support Worker
Their focus is to keep families together when it is safe and in the best interest of the child to do so. When a family arrives at the service, as a team, you will put together an assessment to suit the needs of each individual in order to assess their parenting skills and ability to safely care for their child. Residents are assessed on daily parenting techniques such as general care with feeding, nappy changes, bath time, safety and protection, and emotional warmth. The services assessments are more than just observing the parent and the child. You will be there to offer advice and support to help them develop their skills in areas beyond parenting. You will be assisting in running groups to help parents in areas like cooking, self-esteem and play sessions with their children.
Permanent roles are available as well as ad hoc shifts.
You will promote service users' rights, dignity, and empowerment. In addition, you will respect emotional wellbeing and obtain consent for care, creating opportunities for individuals to achieve desired outcomes. Supporting physical, emotional, social, and intellectual wellbeing is also important in this role.
