Best Interest Assessor £250 per assessment Devon County Council Are you a qualified Best Interests Assessor? If the answer is yes, then you may be able to help Devon County Council Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Service to reduce the number of people waiting for an assessment under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. We are looking for experienced Best Interest Assessors who are able to commit to a minimum of four assessments per week for a minimum period of 6 months. BIA’s will be largely working remotely, carrying out assessments and writing up reports at home. Very limited expectation for them to be in the office, there may be the odd exception. Best Interests Assessors are an integral part of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and have a range of duties that fall to them under the statute. They are responsible for undertaking a number of the assessments required to enable a deprivation of liberty to be authorised and have a key role in ensuring that people's human rights are upheld, and that they are represented and supported to challenge their deprivation of liberty in the Court of Protection.
