Job Description:
An independent small animal practice in Coalville is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon for a 12-month maternity cover position starting in June 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team in a well-established practice that has been serving the local community since 2019.
About the Role:
* This position offers flexible part-time hours (15-25 hours per week) with a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota.
* There are no out-of-hours responsibilities and only occasional sole charge, ensuring a good work-life balance.
* The practice is also open to consultation-only roles for interested candidates.
The Team & Environment:
Led by experienced professionals, the team includes four vets, one of whom is working towards a Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, as well as five RVNs and three receptionists. The practice has grown steadily and is now a valued part of the local community.
Ideal Candidate:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in small animal practice.
* Confident in routine surgical and medical cases.
* Client-focused and approachable, with a passion for excellent patient care.
* An interest in exotics would be advantageous.
Location & Accessibility:
The practice is based in Coalville, Northwest Leicestershire, with excellent transport links via the M1, providing easy access to Leicester, Nottingham, and Derby.
