Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.
Role Purpose Responsible for working to a given menu and within the nutritional guidelines. Work within targets/guidelines as agreed with the Area Catering Manager (food and labour costs). Adhere to kitchen hygiene and cleaning schedules. Adhere to portion control as per client specification. Any other duties as specified by the Area Contract Officer. Communicate effectively to promote the service and maintain all elements of the role to the desired levels. Promote a customer focused attitude and promote healthy eating at all times. Contribute to the implementation of recommendations in the interests of best value and best practice. To comply at all times with internal & external policies, regulations, and legislative requirements.Essential
City and Guilds 706/1 or SVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 1/2

Demonstrate significant experience in a Food Preparation and Cooking role and must be willing to achieve an SVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 2 within two years of joining the Council. Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate Good level of General Education
