KS2 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Rotherham)

About the Role
We are looking to appoint a motivated and caring Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Rotherham. This role involves supporting pupils in Years 3–6, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will play a key role in delivering engaging learning experiences and providing targeted support where needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support teaching and learning across KS2 (Years 3–6)
2. Work with individuals and small groups to support literacy and numeracy development
3. Assist in delivering planned interventions and booster sessions
4. Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
5. Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment
6. Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere
7. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
About You
We are looking for someone who:
8. Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2
9. Has good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum (especially English and Maths)
10. Is patient, supportive, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
11. Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills
12. Is flexible, proactive, and able to use initiative
13. Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) or equivalent experience
