Our Muirfield Service based in the Kilwinning area of North Ayrshire includes a residential children’s home and a dedicated outreach service designed for children and young people with additional support needs in North and East Ayrshire. We are looking to recruit Childcare Practitioners who are motivated, creative, and enthusiastic with the ability to deliver high-quality care and support. Through the application of person-centred approaches, the successful candidates will provide invaluable support to children/young people and their families, promoting positive outcomes. The service operates flexibly, with shifts including evenings and weekends, so flexibility with working patterns is essential. Knowledge of current legislation such as GIRFEC, SHANARRI well-being outcomes, and the Curriculum for Excellence is desirable and should be demonstrated through service delivery and support planning.
What’s in it for You? Help transform lives like M’s.
My name is M. I am 16 years old, autistic, and have a learning disability. I am preparing to start college after the summer holidays. I sometimes struggle with making positive friendships and communicating my needs clearly. Supporting me requires being non-judgemental, understanding my needs, and helping me learn my route to college and use public transport more independently. I also need help with meeting new people and building positive relationships with peers.
I enjoy outdoor activities, swimming, listening to music, and dancing! It’s important that we engage in fun activities I enjoy while helping me develop my independent living skills.
