Job Overview
1. Be an essential part of the site/regional management of a team who will ensure the safe operation and repair of all Mechanical and Gas equipment inc. compressors and boiler equipment on the site.
2. Ensure, Gas, pressure systems and L8 compliance.
3. Although predominantly a ‘hands off' role, the individual will require a very high level of knowledge of building services systems and will be able to both undertake planned and reactive repairs works when necessary and lead their team from a technical perspective by actual demonstration of personal technical ability when required.
4. Undertake periodic reviews and arrange forthcoming planned maintenance and project activity and ensure adequate labour resources with the correct skillset are in place to support operations at all locations within a defined region.
5. Co-ordinate labour (direct and sub-contractor) to ensure delivery of the Planned and Reactive Maintenance Service within a defined region, to include management of available resource in periods of sickness and holiday.
6. Manage the On-call rota, team absence and annual leave.
7. Undertake routine and ad-hoc audits of both planned and reactive works to ensure high standard. of compliance and quality
8. Undertake employee Appraisals/ Performance Reviews including the identification of training and development needs.
9. Monitor site performance of sub-contractors.
10. Responsible with the QSHE team for the upkeep, monitoring, assessment and reviewing of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work/ Permit to Work systems.
Main Duties
11. Provide technical and professional support to the Maintenance team and to the Client in order to develop a “team” approach.
12. Manage employees within a service environment and maximise the performance of your team.
13. Undertake training and appointment as a AP in appropriate disciplines.
14. Undertake the collection and provision of data related to all estate maintenance operations.
15. Maintain formal and informal communications with Client staff members related to service levels and issues.
16. Remain flexible with the ability to work under pressure.
17. Fully aware of relevant Health and Safety and general legislative matters.
18. Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and site-specific health, safety and welfare policies.
Knowledge, skills and experience
19. NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safety
20. HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject matter
21. Preferably 10 years (minimum of 5 years) experience in building services and plant engineering, five years as a maintenance craftsman preferably within an engineering role.
22. Previous appointment as Authorised Person for one or more of the following disciplines: Confined Spaces, Pressure Systems, PTE.
23. Excellent communications both written and verbal.
24. Computer literate.

25. Proven experience in commercial or industrial maintenance.
26. Driving licence Full and valid UK driving licence
27. Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
28. Good communication and IT skills, with the ability to complete documentation accurately.
