We are seeking a proactive and driven Assistant SENCO to join our forward:thinking special school in Effingham, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with experience supporting young people with Autism to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of our students educational journeys.
What Youll Be Doing
This role is about more than just administration:its about making a tangible impact on the lives of our students. Youll work directly with our SENCO to:

Lead and manage the daily SEN provision across the school.
*
Mentor and advise teachers on effective strategies for students with Autism and other communication difficulties.
*
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our interventions, using data to inform decision:making.
*
Build strong partnerships with parents and external agencies to ensure our support is comprehensive and holistic.
*
Drive professional development for staff, helping to foster a school:wide culture of excellence in SEN provision.

Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic practitioner with a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with Autism. We are seeking someone who is passionate, resilient, and ready to take on a leadership challenge.
Key requirements:

Experience in a SENCO or similar special educational needs role is highly preferred.
*
A minimum of GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent) is essential.
*
A teaching qualification is a plus, as it is required to achieve the National Award in SEND Coordination. We will support you in gaining this qualification if needed.
