We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to the join Bunzl Rafferty Guest Amenities team in a field based role covering Scotland.
Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for the maintenance of our existing business and for developing growth across this area. Bunzl Rafferty has a presence in Glasgow & Edinburgh as well as vast opportunity throughout the remainder of the region.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for successful sales growth in the location in line with the Company's objectives, overall business plans and strategies.
* Continuous focus, action and targeting of new business.
* Build existing Customer relationships and introduce new products/categories to increase market share.
* Accountable for the achievement of both annual and monthly sales objectives as per targets set.
* Accountable for providing an annual Sales Plan and providing weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates, and modifications as required.
* Maintain appropriate data and information on the company’s Salesforce CRM system.
* Co-ordinate customer events, exhibitions and special events throughout the year.
* Monthly reviews of the relevant customer pipeline activity.
* Contribution to the company Sales and Operations meetings by supplying demand forecast data. This will cover areas such as new business wins, pipeline activity, range introductions and upgrades, special offer promotions and discontinued ranges.
* Expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
* Assist with profitable Product Development in conjunction with Marketing and Commercial team members.

* A minimum of 3 years field sales experience in the hotel industry
* Sound knowledge of hotel cosmetics and general products within the hotel bedroom space.
* Has developed and executed tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives.
* Highly organised and has strong effective time management skills.
* Highly competent and computer literate with all Microsoft Office system.
* Experience required with utilising sales database tracking programs.
* Strong negotiating skills and capacity.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Equally strong listening skills
* Highly customer focused.
* Highly efficient.
* Ability to set policies but remain flexible when customer conditions require.
