Job Overview:
Were looking for a commercially minded Estimator to join our regional team in London. This isnt just about sending out quotes. Its about protecting margin, spotting risk early, and making sure we win the right work at the right price.
Youll be reviewing drawings, schedules, and tender documents for plumbing and heating projects, turning them into accurate, competitive quotations that make sense commercially. Youll work closely with contractors, suppliers, and our internal team to make sure every figure stacks up - from materials and pricing through to delivery logistics
Youll be juggling multiple enquiries at once, prioritising high-value opportunities, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. If you enjoy working with numbers, spotting gaps others miss, and knowing your work directly impacts the bottom line, this is the kind of role youll thrive in.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents for plumbing and heating projects
Producing accurate and competitive quotations within agreed timescales
Working with suppliers to obtain pricing and negotiate where needed
Managing incoming enquiries via email and phone, prioritising workload effectively
Maintaining and updating contract and quotation records on internal systems
Liaising with contractors and project teams to clarify requirements
Supporting the sites with pricing strategy and commercial decisions
Identifying risks, inconsistencies, or cost pressures before quotes are submitted
What Were Looking For:
Experience in an estimating role within plumbing, heating, building services, or merchant environment
Strong numerical ability and high attention to detail
Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel experience essential - VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables advantageous)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
Commercially aware - you understand that winning work is important, but winning profitable work is critical
Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
