Paralegal Location: South Street, CV9 1DE Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 2 Months Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week Pay Rate: £16.08 Per Hour Job Ref: (phone number removed) Job Responsibilities Assist in providing legal services for the Council, its Members, and Officers. Support the Legal Team in preparing legal documents and court applications. Organize and update legal files and databases. Produce and send invoices and legal documents promptly. Gather data for performance reporting and case analysis. Conduct legal research as needed. Help ensure compliance with data protection laws and best practices. Assist with governance matters, including complaints and information requests. Contribute to safeguarding the organization against risks. Provide legal and administrative support on various issues. Offer legal advice to Council Divisions and Councillors. Meet Key Performance Indicators and personal targets. Follow Council policies and procedures. Promote the Council’s values and ensure health and safety compliance. Person Specifications Must Have Experience in housing, planning law, data protection, and information freedom. Experience with court proceedings and meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work as part of a team. Commitment to safeguarding children and adults with care needs. Recognize and address discrimination. Good standard of English and Maths. Law degree. Full valid driving license. Ability to work unusual hours, including evenings. Nice to Have Understanding of Local Government structure and issues. Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive. Ability to lead and motivate staff. Excellence in customer service. Ability to handle sensitive matters independently.
