We are now looking for an Account Executive - Education & Wellbeing to manage and grow our portfolio of university and college wellbeing partnerships. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with insurance experience or experience within the higher/further education sector to step into a role that combines account management, relationship building and targeted new business development.
Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
What you’ll be doing
1. Managing and renewing an established portfolio of education‑sector clients
2. Delivering a high‑quality, seamless service supported by our external provider
3. Building strong relationships with Student Services, Wellbeing Teams, Counsellors and key decision‑makers
4. Holding quarterly MI review meetings and identifying new opportunities
5. Prospecting and booking appointments to drive sustainable growth
6. Supporting our annual wellbeing conference strategy and representing Howden at partner events
7. Engaging regularly with internal teams to ensure high‑quality client delivery
8. Travelling as needed to meet partners and attend September promotional events
What you’ll bring:
Experience
9. Proven background in sales, client management or account management — ideally within insurance or a related industry
10. Experience or familiarity with the education sector, particularly universities, colleges or student accommodation, is highly advantageous
11. Understanding of student wellbeing programmes is beneficial but not essential
Skills
12. Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
13. Ability to build rapport easily and adapt communication style to different audiences
14. Well‑organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
15. Comfortable managing your own diary and balancing multiple tasks
16. Target‑driven mindset with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
Qualifications
17. GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
