Premises, Health and Safety Manager role at Suffolk Jobs Direct
Location: St Margaret’s CEVAP School, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 2BT. Hours: 22 hours per week, 42 weeks per year. Contract: Permanent. Salary: £28,142 – £29,540 pro rata. Reference: 7988.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for the premises and buildings of a large town centre school (420 pupils), ensuring the school remains safe and all legal requirements are met.
* Take overall responsibility for the fabric of the school and liaising with contractors as a main part of the daily role.
* Report to the School Business Manager and use your initiative to make recommendations.
* Form good relationships with main contractors, specifically the school’s Property Advisor and colleagues within the school.
You will have
* Experience of managing premises (heating, lighting, water testing, etc.).
* A good working understanding of Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
* The ability to manage a team including a caretaker and cleaning team.
* Project management experience (desirable).
* An understanding of the legal requirements in a school (legionella, asbestos, COSHH, etc.).
