Main duties of the job
We offerour staff an innovative, alternative way to delivering health care, have a verypatient-centred approach with short waiting times for our patients, and youwill have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a fantasticorganisation, as well as the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledgein a surgical setting.
You will be responsible for delivery of the provision and co-ordinationof training and educational support to enable the clinical teams to provide upto date evidence-based care and on-going learning.
Youwill be responsible for creating and delivering competency-based training andassessments to meet the needs of the business and support the development ofnew or changing roles to meet our patients needs.
Youwill work with the matrons/clinical development lead and site teams to ensureclinical training requirements are identified and delivered in line with bestpractice standards.
TheClinical Practice Educator role always demonstrates clinical leadership and actsas a role model, will lead by example, disseminating good practice.
Youwill promote the development of whole system multidisciplinary working, and thedelivery of evidence-based patient care.
Youwill support IHG values and empower teams to ensure that practices are up todate and evidence based, to ensure patient care is of the highest quality.

Responsibilities:
Promotea patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all members of themultidisciplinary team within IHG, with an emphasis on promoting a patientsafety culture.
Maintainand develop perioperative and specialist clinical knowledge to facilitate thedelivery of the expert advice and support across IHG.
Maintainawareness of local, national, and professional expectations relevant to thedelivery of perioperative care, patient safety and the expectations ofcommissioners and regulators (CQC)
Ensurerisks, incidents and shared learning are used as an opportunity to create alearning environment where challenge is welcomed.
Maintainown clinical competence to be able to work clinically and maintain an authenticand credible presence.
Working with identifytraining needs for staff and for orientation, induction, and on-goingprogrammes of training and education for all staff within the clinicalenvironment.
Reviewand develop appropriate orientation, competency training and assessment ofknowledge packages across the business.
Managethe development of a range of training packages and resources includingcompetencies, workbooks, e-learning, face to face presentations, and hands onsupervision in clinical areas, organising access to external training ifrequired.
Ensure thetraining interventions prepared and delivered are regularly updated in linewith new research and best practice, organisation policy, NHS Guidelines andNational Guidance.
Provides bothformal and informal support for individuals within the clinical environment actingas a resource to support the Professional Development of other staff.
Foster a cultureof lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
Participate inthe corporate development of Nursing/AHP workforce through contributing to thewider organisational agenda.
To support thedevelopment, facilitation and participate in the teaching of a competency and knowledge-basedinduction programme for new staff to the clinical environment.
Support thedevelopment of competency based educational packs for nursing staff within theclinical environment.
Developand review, policies, and SOPs, relevant to the perioperative environmentwhere required.
Tobe highly visible, accessible, and approachable so that communication channelsare improved and discussions on care delivery are facilitated in a timelymanner.
Ensurepatients come first and their experience is at the centre of all care decisionsand developments in clinical practice.

1. NMC / HCPC Registered Nurse / ODP
2. Teaching / Assessing / Mentoring / qualification or wiliness to immediately undertake.
Experience

3. Demonstrable experience of clinical practice in the perioperative setting,
4. Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering education in a perioperative clinical setting
5. Evidence of developing training and assessment policies and procedures to support the effective and safe provision of care in the perioperative setting.
6. Experience in managing / coordinating activities within the perioperative setting, demonstrating effective leadership skills.
7. Experience of communicating widely with people at all levels within and outside of the organisation.

8. Knowledge of the importance of education and training in relation to the quality of care delivered.
9. Highly organised with effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
