This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to embark on a new adventure in their chosen career. Key responsibilities: The Estates Facilities Manager (EFM) will oversee all facilities and accommodation on the estate, including mandatory compliance requirements. Responsible for the provision and utilisation of over 600 transit accommodation bed spaces. You will communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, within and outside the MoD, and across many grades and ranks. Act as Fire Prevention Safety Advisor (FPSA). Building Custodian for several facilities within the estate, including acting as Fire Prevention Safety Practitioner (FPSP) and completing mandatory testing. Responsible for legal compliance of buildings in terms of fire and Health and Safety. Oversee a large Military estate comprising of 50 buildings and plus smaller outlying facilities within a short driving distance. Leading on the provision of a safe and efficient place to work and train for those using the estate. Lead on building management, maintenance, compliance, faults, accommodation/facility bookings and development projects. Managing a small team of up to four Civil Servants the job holder will be the focal point for regular users and those transiting through the accommodation used by military personnel during operational and ceremonial activities. Responsible for processing all booking requests. Allocation of accommodation in line with policy and entitlement and physical hand over/take over requirements. Line Manager for up to 4 Civil Servants who support the Facilities Manager in role. Lead on Soft Facilities Management (SFM), by providing quality assurance for the performance of Industry Partners (IP), staff as necessary and act as the site Point of Contact. Site lead for all SFM related activities as required including waste disposal, cleaning, etc. Lead on Hard Facilities Management (HFM) contractual arrangement, liaison with stakeholders (internal and external), quality assurance on contract delivery, utilities savings and act as the site Point of Contact liaison with Internal and External business partners. Act as the Unit Safety Advisor (USA). Lead on Safe and Legal requirement for site. Responsible for maintenance of site risk registers. Mandatory attendance of the USA course required within the first 12 months of appointment, if equivalent qualifications are not held. We are looking for someone with the following qualities: Essential skills required: Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn Forms if no prior knowledge. Confident, self-motivated individual who can work within a team and independently with minimum direction and is hardworking and able to manage a complex and varied workload. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and be flexible in your approach to your responsibilities. Adept at collating and analysing information from a variety of sources, and at communicating it in the optimal form to influence others. Able to deliver the highest standards of support to the organisation with an ability to communicate and engage with people at all levels. An effective decision maker with the ability to deliver at pace whilst demonstrating a capability to deal with changing priorities. Working confidently to provide trustworthy and dependable guidance and assistance. Have strong communications skills and an ability to clearly communicate at all levels. The ability to use sound judgement and knowledge to provide policy advice and know when to elevate to next level. Proven ability prioritise workload and to work at pace. Awareness of Fire Safety if no qualifications are held then you must attend the armys Fire Prevention Safety Advisor Course (FPSA) within the first year of taking up the post. Desirable skills: Level 3 qualification in Facilities Management or display a good understanding of the role. (If not already held, applicants may have the ability to complete their Level 3 Certificate in Facilities Management when in post). Complete the Armys Unit Safety Advisors Course (USA) within 12 months subject to course availability. Advantageous to have a driving licence as public transport is not available to reach some outlying areas.
