SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Autism Provision – Andover Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential to become permanent) Salary: Up to £21,500 per annum Hours: 35 hours per week Are you passionate about supporting young people with Autism and Asperger’s? A specialist secondary provision in Andover is looking for a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a long-term opportunity with the strong potential for a permanent position for the right person. About the School: A well-regarded specialist school supporting students aged 11–19 with Autism, Asperger’s, and associated needs Rated “Good” by Ofsted, with a nurturing and inclusive environment A holistic approach to education, combining academic learning with therapies, life skills, and social development Supportive leadership and staff team, focused on individual student progress and wellbeing Your Role: Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with Autism and Asperger’s Support across a broad curriculum including literacy, numeracy, life skills, and social development Build strong, positive relationships and help students develop independence, communication, and confidence Assist with behaviour regulation and promote a calm, safe learning space Communicate regularly with parents and carers to support transparency and consistency Work collaboratively with a team of experienced SEN professionals What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children or young people with Autism, Asperger’s, or other SEN Calm, empathetic and resilient with a proactive attitude Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with students and staff A team player with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs GCSEs (Grades A–C) in English and Maths Willingness to undertake First Aid training (if not already qualified) Additional Information: Based in Andover – access to a car is highly recommended due to location Full-time role starting in September 2025, continuing until July 2026, with the potential for permanent employment Excellent opportunity to grow your skills and career in a supportive SEN setting Why Join Us?
