Herd Manager – Dumfries & Galloway
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Herd Manager to join a progressive dairy farm in Dumfries & Galloway. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £42,000, accommodation, and the chance to work on a well-managed, grass-based system.
The Role:
* Day-to-day management of the dairy herd, ensuring high welfare and production standards.
* Grassland management to optimise grazing efficiency and cow nutrition.
* Milking, herd health, and fertility management.
* Working closely with the farm owner and wider team to drive farm performance.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in herd management, with a strong focus on grass-based dairying.
* Confident in herd health, fertility, and nutrition.
* Skilled in pasture management and rotational grazing.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with strong leadership skills.
