1. Work on high-value clinical negligence cases (including £1m+ claims) alongside senior lawyers
2. Hybrid working (2 days from home) with genuine flexibility around client contact
3. Manage your own caseload while developing on complex, life-changing cases
This role is built around quality work and meaningful client relationships, not volume for the sake of it.
You’ll step into a clinical negligence team that handles serious, often life-changing cases, including brain injuries, birth injuries, delayed diagnoses and fatal claims. From the outset, you’ll run your own smaller caseload (depending on experience), while also supporting on higher-value, more complex matters with senior lawyers.
The first few months are about finding your rhythm, getting to grips with the team’s approach, building relationships with clients and becoming confident managing your files independently. From there, the role naturally expands. You’ll take on more complex work, deepen your technical expertise and play a bigger part in shaping how cases are run.
There’s also real exposure here. You won’t be hidden behind layers, you’ll have direct client contact, involvement in strategy and the chance to see complex claims through properly. If you enjoy the human side of clinical negligence as much as the legal, this environment will suit you.
The culture leans heavily on trust and flexibility. You’ll have autonomy over how you work, support from a collaborative team, and the ability to build your career without being boxed into rigid structures.
