Quantity Surveyor
Leeds
Salary (DOE) + Car/Company car + Package
I am currently recruiting for a number of Assistant/Quantity/Senior Quantity Surveyors for a well established Main Contractor based in the Leeds & North East areas. These roles will cover a number of buoyant civils sectors including highways/public realm and utilities. These roles also do come with hybrid working so as well as a huge platform, you will also get option for flexibility.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Accounts
2. Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy requirements for competency of sub-contractors, recommendations, orders, warranties.
3. Contract administration of sub-contracts
4. Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors applications
5. Final Account agreement of sub-contract accounts
6. Measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings
7. Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same
8. Weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments
9. Accurate production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with the Commercial reporting timetable
10. Working closely with the Site Manager and rest of delivery team to monitor progress and its effect on margin and producing joint monthly preliminaries budgets
11. Ensuring good quality & accurate records are kept and maintained
12. Delay identification/notification/ in tandem with Quantity Surveying line manager
13. Take off & preparation of bills of quantities for estimating department for tender submissions
14. Achieving deadlines
15. Accuracy
16. Improving profit margin
The ideal candidate:
17. To have had ownership of projects in civils/infrastructure sectors (water/highways/roads preference)
18. To have a degree or relevant qualification within Quantity Surveying
19. To have extensive understanding or experience within NEC
20. Excellent telephone skills
21. Excellent written and communication skills
22. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately
23. Able to produce accurate work within required deadlines
24. Has a “can do/ will do” attitude
25. Is punctual and reliable
