The Opportunity
Robert Half is exclusively partnering with a growing business who are embarking on the implementation of a new procurement system. This system is being introduced to provide the business with greater visibility, control, and compliance across its cost centres, while ensuring all purchases are supported by accurate and timely Purchase Orders (POs).
As a
Procurement Contractor
, you will play a key role in supporting the transition, embedding processes, and ensuring departmental heads are engaged with and accountable for their cost centre budgets.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the implementation of the new procurement system with a strong focus on PO creation and cost centre management.
* Act as the primary liaison between the finance/procurement function and 8–10 departmental heads, ensuring each understands and adheres to the new processes.
* Provide guidance, training, and oversight to departmental heads to strengthen ownership of their cost centres.
* Develop and embed procurement policies, procedures, and controls that balance governance with operational efficiency.
* Monitor adoption and compliance, identifying challenges and working collaboratively to resolve them.
* Deliver regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Ensure data integrity and accurate reporting throughout the implementation phase.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in procurement, with a track record of supporting system implementations or process change.
* Strong understanding of PO management, cost centre accountability, and budget control.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at departmental head level.
* Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site collaboration with independent delivery.
* Self-starter with the ability to quickly embed into a business and drive change.
* Prior experience in a project or transformation environment is highly desirable.
